Is there a free trial?
Yes. Starter includes a 7 day free trial so you can try the full AI experience first. Cancel any time during the trial and you will not be charged.
Is Classic Unlimited really a one-time payment?
Yes. You buy it once and it does not renew. It unlocks the full note-taking and canvas toolset, kept offline on your device. AI, cloud sync and collaboration sit in the AI & Cloud subscription instead.
What happens when I run out of credits?
Your notes and canvases keep working exactly as before, and only the AI features pause until your credits reset at the start of the next billing cycle. You can upgrade any time for a larger monthly allowance.
I only use canvas. Do I need to pay?
You can get started with Canvas for free. For unlimited offline canvases, you can upgrade to Classic Unlimited with a one-time purchase—no subscription required.
Are my notes used to train AI models?
No. Your notes, your prompts and the AI's replies are never used to train generative AI models, and our AI providers are not permitted to use them for that either. Only the content needed for a given request is sent.
Can I get a refund?
Most purchases can be refunded within 48 hours of the charge, subject to the rules of the store you bought from. Purchases made after a free trial has been used are not refundable, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
How do I cancel or change my plan?
Manage it where you bought it: iOS Settings for App Store purchases, the Google Play app for Play purchases, or the Notewise billing portal for purchases made on our website. Upgrading mid-cycle costs only the prorated difference.
What happens to my notes if I stop paying for AI & Cloud?
Your cloud notes are kept for a 30 day grace period, and we email you when the subscription ends. Renew within that window and everything comes back. After 30 days cloud-stored notes are permanently deleted, so export anything you want to keep first.
Can I turn AI off?
Not completely while you are using Notewise Cloud, because the two are integrated. You can reduce automatic AI activity in settings, and if you would rather keep everything local you can use Notewise without Cloud.
Does Notewise work offline?
Yes. You can view and edit your notes without a connection. On AI & Cloud, syncing pauses while you are offline and catches up on its own once you reconnect.
What happens if I run out of cloud storage?
You will be able to view but not edit until there is room again, and anything over your limit is marked for deletion after 7 days. Within that window you can upgrade or delete notes to free up space. Notes in the Bin still count, so empty it too.
How big a document can I import?
Notewise supports a wide range of file types, including PDFs, documents, presentations, spreadsheets, and more. Files can be up to 1 GB in size. Classic Free supports documents of up to 50 pages, while Classic Unlimited and all cloud plans support documents of up to 3,000 pages.
Why do some Marketplace templates cost extra?
Marketplace items are made by independent creators who are paid for their work, so they are sold separately. Some templates are included with an AI & Cloud subscription.
